This is a very interesting question. Over time I have had many women tell me how beautiful I am just the way I look. "You don't need to lose anything", "get over it, your fine", "If your husband isn't complaining, why are you worried about?"...and the list goes on. I'm not exactly sure what is the underlying motivation behind these comments. I do believe that they all want to be happy with myself. But it would be nice for someone to just say, "if you don't feel good about where you are today, I support you my sista". I am going to continue to strive to be better. I'm not where I want to be, but I'm certainly not where I used to be!

I get a lot of support from both men and women. Tenants in the buildings where I live and walk/run outside are constantly telling me they see me and are so proud of me, keep it up, it shows, etc. I did my first 5k walk/jog yesterday and got fabulous support from the running group I'm a part of and most of them I had only met on the FB page. They call me inspiring because of my posts but they have helped me a lot. They are ALL younger than me. I just started running this year. NEVER, EVER ran for anything. EVER. My Florida cousin started walking/running last year and dropped 70 lbs. That did it for me. She ran 20 miles this morning BEFORE church! My children and grand children are cheering me on. Going back into training to do another 5k in December. Have walking partners for the weekends which is good. Would love to start a walking group here where I live. If I start to run into the negative, haters remarks, my reply will be, "and your point is???" No one has a nickel in my dime. I am always posting congrats to strangers on the various fitness sites/pages I belong to and if I can't say something poositive for whatever reason, I don't say anything. Doesn't hurt or cost anything to be nice. By the way, I'm 64 years young and having a ball.

My man is amazing....he tells me all the time that I am losing and I am on the right track. If I feel fat or call myself fat he reassures me I am not. He's better than any gf, sister etc cause he is not jealous or hating. It helps we do it together as well. We share our numbers/ weight from doctor's appts and congrats each other. Many people in our circle see us changing but, rather than saying good job, etc they say things like "oh I see your little check-ins" on fb. When the word little is in anything, it tells me you are hating..LOL just today someone at the gym told me how great Iook since she saw me at my 1st cycle class 3 months ago. I told her I do more classes now and thanks. I mean really a compliment from someone you don't know is awesome!!! good luck gals and keep up the good work :-)
