Hey Creole Lady, I'm not sure if you went with the surgery but I'm planning on going through with it and my mother has already went through it. She does not have loose skin and she is 42 years old. If you want to look at her pics her Facebook is Patrice Vinson Jones. My momma and the Surgeon stated that exercise and drinking a lot of water and staying away from sugar, starches and soda are key to successful weight loss. You want to keep the muscle you already have so you would need to lift weights. A lot of people get the surgery done and instead of loosing fat ( the loose skin) they loose muscle. Just make sure you follow your surgeons instructions and you get the results you . Good Luck with your decision if you haven't already made it

In reply to <a href="https://www.blackweightlosssuccess.com/ebonie-lost-96-pounds/#comment-620794">Creole Lady</a>.

Hey creole lady, i understand what your going thru. Im currently 347lbs and I'm in the pre op stages of the VSG surgery. I plan to have surgery in june. I worry about loose skin as well, but ultimately i would much rather have loose skin than this extra weight ANYDAY. Strength training and shapewear will help out a lot. You have to decide what's more important. I may never be able to wear a bikini after surgery with the loose skin, but im not able to wear one now with this extra weight.... You feel me? After surgery i may have skin issues but ill be a lot smaller & healthier for my kids. Im looking forward to feeling "normal" and my skin will not get in the way of that. Hope this helps! I wish you the best on your journey!

Can someone, anyone please help shed some light and or suggest to me what I should do to get out of the horrible delima I'm in. It's a long story but I'll try to shorten it. I'm 35 years old,5'8" tall & I currently weigh 302.6 lbs. I feel so depressed that I cry almost daily. I want bariactric surgery but I'm so scared of the possibility of loose skin making me feel depressed afterwards that I can't properly decide if I should do it or not. Obesity is deep in my family & my mother died as a complication of it on June 3 2012 at just 61 yes old. I think that thoughts of ending up the same way exacerbates the depression. I have fybromyalgia & arthritis & working out is VERY painful during & after. It's like I'm getting bigger & more depressed but I feel like I don't stand a chance of happiness as long as I'm morbidly obese, obese or just over weight. I don't want to die & I have a beautiful 14 yr old daughter.
