This is a very straight forward, yet powerful, challenge that will help you stay active and stay positive as you continue to work toward your goals in 2017. This month’s GOAL: We are committed to 21 days of healthy habits and walking briskly for at least 30 minutes a day. We’ve got a new checklist for February. Download it below.
Experts say that it only takes 21 days to form a new habit. This means that in the next 21 days you could break a habit of being inactive and acquire a new habit of working out regularly by walking for 21 days!
What is brisk walking? Brisk walking means walking at challenging pace instead of just strolling. More info…
- Step Goals: Each day you’ll have a daily step goal. You will need a fitness tracker (FitBit, Jawbone, Garmin, etc), pedometer or a mobile app that tracks your steps via your phone. You will record how many steps you’ve taken each day on the checklist.
- Healthy Habits: Each day you will also complete the “Task of the Day” listed on the checklist. You’ll need a journal/notebook for this challenge. We will be asking you to do some meal planning and take your lunch to work during this challenge, so you may need to invest food containers and a lunch bag.
- Need Motivation? Visit our Facebook page daily for tips and inspiration. Join our Facebook private group for support and more information during the challenge. If you have a Fitbit, join our FitBit Group.

On a treadmill, in the mall, at work or outside, it’s up to you where you walk. We want you to work at your own pace and do what is comfortable for your fitness level. This isn’t a competition and it’s not about perfection. It’s about challenging yourself to do the work. If all you can do is 15 minutes of walking, then let that be your starting point. No judgement.
Tip: If weather or time is a challenge, consider Leslie Samson’s walking workout DVD series. Great home workout!
