Transformation of the Day: Morgan lost over 30 pounds. After years of struggling with her weight and having low self esteem, she decided to start loving herself and treating her body with care and respect. Not only has she transformed her life, but she is helping women in her community with her Curvy Cardio fitness business. Check out her story.
My name is Morgan O, and like many others out there, I have struggled with weight all of my life. It got to a point where I not only hated my body, but myself. My self esteem was very low, I started acting out of character and just not respecting myself as I should. Finally I decided to make a change and began to love me, no matter how I looked. Real love and real change starts with you.
What inspired me to keep going when I wanted to give up was realizing that I love myself so much more than what was reflected in how I was treating my body. I was tired of complaining of how I felt or looked and decided that I was the only person who could make change happen for me.
I changed my eating habits by learning about portion sizes, learning to read food labels and cutting out fast food, I also cut soda out of my diet and drank lots of water. The Weight Watchers program helped as well.
I surrounded myself with a great support system and started working out more. I workout at least 5 times a week. I mixed in personal training sessions with a trainer, doing weight training. I continue both these two things as well as attending Bootcamp Cincinnati and taking spin classes to switch up my routine and trick my body.
I’ve founded my own fitness business, Curvy Cardio. I’ve now made it my purpose to serve others, helping them love their bodies and make better lifestyle choices. I believe everyone has their own fitness journey that they have to walk at their own pace, with no shaming. Starting this business has also been key to me losing the pounds! I teach my Curvy Cardio class 3 days a week. The classes are aerobic fitness classes with free weights.
My starting weight was 230 pounds and my current weight is 195 pounds. My height is 5’6″. My transformation took about 6 months.
My advice for others who want to lose weight, is to remember that it is your journey. You have to be mentally ready to take that first step and decide you want to change your lifestyle, because that is what it is, a lifestyle change. Only you can dictate what your weight loss journey looks like and how long its going to take. That makes it so much easier to continue and not give up!
