Transformation of the Day: Tiana lost 90 pounds. She also improved her quality of life for the benefit of her children. She opted to have Gastric Sleeve surgery. Keto and exercising regularly help her to keep the weight off. Check out her story.
I am 29 years old. I started my weight loss journey in July 2018 while at my heaviest weight of 361.1 pounds. After having a baby a year prior and going through the loss of a parent, I packed on the pounds considerably fast.
I’ve always had a weight issue since I was a kid. This led to my lack of confidence and to depression. (My situation is getting better now, but still not where it should be. One day at a time.)
I was put on blood pressure medication, and I was about to be placed on diabetes meds when I made the decision to look into the Gastric Sleeve procedure to help me with my spirling weight gain. I had weight loss surgery in August 2018. Since then, I have lost 90 pounds.
My weight at the time of my surgery was 360 pounds. My weight now is 270.4 pounds.
Now, eight months post surgery, I follow the Keto diet and am trying my hardest to keep up and keep the weight off. I exercise 2-3 times a week, walking and doing light cardio.
My inspiration is being able to run around with my kids now without having to stop and take breaks. Before I lost the weight, I couldn’t even clean my house or walk around a grocery store without having to sit and stop and take a break or ride in those motorized chairs at the stores.
My biggest lesson I learned is that food is more powerful than we think. It can consume us. As I look back, I don’t even feel like that was me. I can’t believe I let myself get that lost. I will never let that happen again.
The best advice I can give is that you should at least try. If you never try, you will never know the true potential you have to accomplish your goals.
