This inspirational story just made my day! I too am a survivor. I was already classified as obese when I received the diagnosis in November 2012, and after meds, surgery, and radiation, found myself another 20+ pounds heavier. And the doctors wanted me to stay on the meds for 10 years! With other horrible side effects, I decided to put those down and adopt a better mindset about my body. In the past six months I’ve dropped 30 pounds and 17 inches, while gaining the energy and strength needed to manage stress. It’s been a slow process, but five pounds a month is nothing to sneeze at. And I’m so grateful to this site for showcasing others in this journey, especially survivors who–like you–say that cancer leaves you better than you were. Amen to that!!!
