Transformation of the Day: Yolanda lost 50 pounds. After experiencing a stroke, she knew that it was time for change. She’s not waiting until the end of her journey to celebrate her progress. Check out how she got results.
I’m still in my journey, but wanted to share that I’ve lost 50 pounds so far. My current weight is 308 pounds. (height: 5’7″). I have more to go, but I’m loving my progress. I’m grateful that I’m not where I used to be after having a TIA episode (mini stroke). To get results, I decided to change my eating habits and get a personal trainer.
What was your motivation?
Having a stroke was a huge motivating factor. Most importantly when it comes to inspiration, my daughter was my biggest cheerleader.
How did you change your eating and exercise habits?
I was a Beachbody coach for a little over a year and the programs helped me to change my eating habits. I used the containers from the 21 Day Fix program to help me with portion control. I also learned to eat more protein and veggies.
I used several different Beachbody workout DVDs like, Slim in 6, 21 Day Fix, 21 Day Fix Extreme, Piyo and Hip Hop Abs. Eventually, I decided to work with a personal trainer.
When did you start your journey?
I started in 2013 and I’ve had a few set backs.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
My biggest lesson: Never give up, because it’s a marathon not a Sprint .
What advice would you share with women who want to release the weight?
The advice I would share is that you really have to want it.
I’m so committed to this lifestyle change and can’t wait to share my future results!
