I was very thin growing up. Then, I had my beautiful son and later gained 50 pounds over the course of 5 years. I didn’t know it but I went into a horrible depression. I didn’t feel pretty and felt so very unhappy.
I began to think about how my son needed a healthy mom. I also knew that if I didn’t do something the depression I was experiencing, it would get worse.
I changed my eating habits and went to the gym 7 days a week. Now, I’ve lost 50 pounds. Today, I can say that I’m finally happy! I just want all the moms to know that it is possible to feel better and be happy. Do not ignore depression! Don’t be embarrassed to seek help!
How did you change your eating habits?
I completely stopped eating fast food, bread, rice, pasta and sweets.
What did your workout routines look like?
I worked out 7 days a week and my workouts ranged from Cardio to Crossfit.
Starting weight/Current weight
225 pounds was my starting weight and my current weight is 166 pounds. I’m 5’9″.
How long did your transformation take?
In October 2015, I started to see a change, but I have been on my weight loss journey for years.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
The #1 thing is dedication.
