Shalandria lost 37 pounds. After being diagnosed borderline diabetic she decided to change her eating habits and start walking everyday. She lost the weight and has kept it off since January. Check out how she did it.
I started out at 221 pounds and my current weight is 184 pounds. My height is 5’4″. I went to the doctor and found out that I was borderline diabetic. I have a family history of diabetes.
After the diagnosis, I woke up one morning and decided to try the military diet. You eat according to the meal plan food list for 3 days and on the other 4 days I focused on getting 1500 calories a day. For breakfast, I ate light on day one. Day 2, I ate light for breakfast and lunch. Day 3, I ate a light breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
I slowly changed my eating habits one day at a time. I stopped drinking sodas completely. I don’t eat fast food period. I also stopped eating junk food like chips, cookies, snack cakes and etc. I started eating more baked food, ate more vegetables and began drinking plenty of water.
I lost 8 pounds in the first 3 days dropping from 221 to 213. I felt awesome and was full of energy. That was very motivating. For exercise, I walk for 30 minutes everyday. I don’t do any other exercise. I started my diet in November 2015 at 221 pounds and by the end of January 2016 I weighed 184 pounds.
My advice to others is start today. Don’t wait for tomorrow. Don’t keep putting it off. You will gain self confident and more energy.
