Transformation of the Day: Charlie 76 pounds. What inspires her not to give up is her children, her mom (who goes to the gym with her), and the supportive people who make up her “gym family”. She’s learned that even if you exercise for hours and hours, if your eating habits are unhealthy you won’t get results. Check out her story.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
My motivation came from wanting to live longer for my kids and wanting to be able to do more activities with them. I wanted to show them how to be healthy.
My inspiration to keep going is my mom, who joined my gym with me, and my gym family at Coastal Fitness Training in Gulf Breeze FL. These ladies are like a family and they push me to keep going. They celebrate my achievements and help keep me accountable.
How did you change your eating habits?
What I eat is a lot of lean protein, fish and veggies. I also drink a gallon of water each day and try to drink a glass of water before each meal to keep from overeating.
What does your workout routine look like?
We do 40 minute boot camp classes. I typically I attend boot camp 5 days a week. 2-3 days a week, I will go to 2 classes a day.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight 341 pounds and my current weight is 265 pounds. My height is 5 feet, 4 inches.
When did you start your journey?
I started working out hard and being serious about my diet in October 2017.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
Biggest lesson I learned is that diet really is key. You can work out 6 hours a day, but if you are not eating right you will not achieve good results.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
My best advice is to meal prep. I typically cook my food for the week on Sunday. I am also a single mom so it helps me to know in advance what I’m going to eat. It also saves me from detouring to fast food places to grab a quick meal.
