Joyce lost 59 pounds. This mother of two saw a photo of herself and wondered who that big lady was next to her children. She realized that it was her and that was the wakeup call she needed. Counting calories and going Keto has truly made a difference.
I am a 36-year-old mother of two boys. I started my fitness journey in 2013 after seeing myself in a picture with my kids. I was shocked at how big I had become! I tried every fad diet known to man to get the weight off. Then, in 2016, I started Keto, and my journey really took off from there. I lost 20 pounds and became addicted to how I could transform my body through hard work and dedication. I never want to get back to 289 pounds again!
What was your motivation?
As I noted, my motivation came after I saw a photo of my kids and me together. I wondered who that big lady was next to them! My boys were young at the time, and all I did was eat, sleep and watch tv! I wanted to be a healthy mom for them and me! I wanted to be able to play with them and not get winded from just tickling them.
How did you change your eating habits?
My eating habits were a big deficit. I did HCG to lose 20lbs, and once I finished my program I saw food in an entirely different way! Calories meant more to me than they did before. I used that experience to teach myself to eat properly and how to cheat healthier by making my favorite foods at home! Now, I am Keto, and I’ve never been happier with how I eat!
What did your workout routine consist of?
I do a split of cardio and working one body part daily! I usually workout 3 to 5 days a week!
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 289 pounds, and my current weight is 230 pounds. I am 5’8”.
When did you start your journey?
I started losing weight in 2013! My body is still transforming, but it took me about four solid years to make my curves how I want them! It’s not over!
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
Calories need to be counted when you start a lifestyle change! Once you
see what works for you, you’ll know how to take care of yourself better.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Whether you start today, tonight, or tomorrow, just start! You’ll be so
much happier when you see how YOU are able to change your body!
