Transformation of the Day: Shay lost 70 pounds. This mother of three decided to have Gastric Sleeve surgery at the beginning of 2021. For her, this has been a mental transformation as well as a physical one. She has achieved excellent results by walking and following the meal plan she received after surgery.
My name is Shay. I’m 26 years old, and I have three kids. I began my journey by having Gastric Sleeve weight loss surgery on January 11, 2021. My starting weight was 245 pounds. My current weight is 175 pounds.
I always thought that after losing weight, I would be so happy. The truth is that after I lost 60 pounds, I still was fighting the mental part of this journey. I asked myself, “Is this enough? Can I do better? Am I too small? Why do I feel so big? Why am I not proud of myself?”
I’m learning that it’s ok not to be ok. I’m learning to trust the process. I feel great, and I’m happy that I decided to get weight loss surgery. However, it’s about so much more than losing weight. It’s about losing the GUILT, SHAME, and the INSECURITY. Now that’s a lot of weight!!
