What was your motivation?
My motivation was my health. I suffer from MS (multiple sclerosis), and it was getting worst with my size. I also wanted to live for my kids. I want to be able to do things, enjoy life with them, and not be on my bed or miss out on their lives.
How did you change your eating habits?
My country is known famously for our street food, such as doubles, etc. The OMAD diet allows me to enjoy my country’s delights and still lose weight in a more disciplined form. My main meals primarily consist of blue food, also known as provisions in our country.
What is your fasting routine?
During this time, I stopped most of my habits, which included eating all day long. I started intermittent fasting 16/8 (16 hours fasting, 8 hours eating) for two weeks to prep myself for OMAD (one meal a day – also known as the warriors’ diet). And on the weekends, I do 20/4 (20 hours eating, 4 hours fasting).
I also stopped eating as many sweets, but fresh juice was my healthy option when I craved something sweet. That’s when I started my blue foods for my one meal with some protein and some veggies to balance out my nutrition.
What is your exercise routine?
During this journey, I don’t do heavy exercise. Instead, I walk when I can, which is about a half hour of walking 3-4 times a week. I also do squats sometimes.
Starting weight/Current weight
I started when I weighed approximately 252 pounds on June 5, 2022, and currently, I weigh 214 pounds. I have lost 38 over the course of three months.
What is your height?
My height is 5’8″.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My biggest lesson is to do it even if you don’t want to.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice: It will be hard, yes, but if I can do it, so can you!
