Transformation of the Day: Khadija lost 40 pounds by focusing on her health. She made practical changes to her eating habits and practiced intermittent fasting. During this journey, she learned that it takes consistency and strength to make lasting lifestyle changes.
What was your motivation?
I wanted to get in shape because I have several health issues. Being obese is the one thing that I have control over.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits to no red meat, no sugar, and I only drank water. I also started practicing intermittent fasting, only eating between 12 pm and 7 or 8 pm.
Tell us about your workout routine.
I walk or jog for 2 miles at least three times a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started at 250 pounds, and I now weigh 210 pounds. I have 20 more pounds to go before I’m at a healthy weight for my height!

I am 5’10”.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned so far is that it takes consistency and strength. You can’t wait for a workout partner or a trainer. Once I was able to wake up and say, “I need to do this by myself.”, my lifestyle and eating habits changed.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
Just know that everyone is different. What worked for me may not work for the next beautiful woman. Learn what works for your body and stick with it!
