What was your motivation?
I was unhappy with myself. My motivation was to be happy when I looked in the mirror instead of feeling depressed. I was suffering from back pain all the time, and I wanted to improve my chance of fertility.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
In my before pictures, I was the heaviest I’ve ever been. Walking up a few steps would have me tired, and I never wanted to feel so unfit and out of shape again. I never wanted to wash the dishes and feel my back start hurting. Even doing something as simple as showering was difficult due to not being able to stand long because of the back pain.
How did you change your eating habits?
I am from the islands, and it’s difficult because we love carbs, but I lowered my carb intake. I also juiced a lot and upped my vegetable intake tremendously.
What foods did you stop or start eating?
White rice and white bread.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I worked out five times a week doing cardio and weight training.

My starting weight was 236 pounds and my current weight is 219 pounds.

Consistency is key, but this journey is more mental than anything else.
