Transformation of the Day: Jada lost 155 pounds. She got results by making small changes to her eating habits and working out five days a week. She is determined to break generational chains and be a healthy example for the people around her.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
What keeps me going is knowing that I have come too far to turn back. I know that I am finally doing something for myself and loving on myself. I also want to be an example for others around me.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started changing my eating habits in small steps. I took away soda first, then rice and other things. I couldn’t just do it all at once. I also went to a nutritionist months later.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I do cardio and lift weights. In addition, I take Zumba on Thursdays.
How often do you work out?
I work out five days a week. Some weeks, I work out more or less. It all depends.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 340 pounds, and my current weight is 185 pounds.

I started in 2018.
How long did your transformation take?
I am still transforming because I still have goals I want to achieve.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I think the biggest lesson I learned in this process is that the struggle never goes away. However, I realized that on the days that I do fall off, it is ok to start again and not be so hard on myself because I’m breaking generational chains.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
I started going to the gym in 2018. I began walking, and everything began to change.
