Transformation of the Day: Sheila lost 53 pounds with healthier eating habits and lots of exercise. She calls herself an Attorney on a Journey, and she has worked hard since January to transform physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
This year, I decided to go on a six-month journey. I call myself an attorney on a journey seeking to improve my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health! In doing so, I have lost 50+ pounds so far!
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I was in a relationship that was not going so well, and I lost myself. I gained 60+ pounds in a year’s time and did not recognize myself anymore. Before the relationship ended, I said, “Enough is enough.”
What inspired me to keep going was to remind myself that I am worthy, that I deserve to be healthy, and that I deserve to be a priority in my own life.
How did you change your eating habits?
I cut out processed foods and limited my meals to 4oz of protein, 2oz of carbs, and as many veggies as I wanted. Portion control is key. I also enjoy fruits.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
In the beginning, my workout routine consisted of 30 minutes of cardio and 15 minutes of strength training five times a week. Now, I do 45 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of strength training. I’m still working out five times a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 209.6 pounds. I currently weigh 156.6 pounds.
What is your height?
My height is 5’5″.
When did you start your journey?
January 20, 2020.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
Don’t quit on yourself. You deserve to be healthy. You are worth it.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Don’t quit on yourself. Keep going! No matter how hard it gets, no matter how frustrated you are, don’t quit on yourself! Rome was not built in a day.
