What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
It’s been and continues to be a journey. What motivated me on this journey was a family history of cardiac disease, cholesterol, and diabetes.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by doing intermittent fasting (16:8 model). I also try to cut out processed food, bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, etc.
What is your workout routine? How often did you work out?
My workout routine consists of 5 days a week at the gym. I walk a mile and then do weights. I also work with a trainer three days a week in addition to the gym and attend a kickboxing class one day a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 234 pounds, and my current weight is 184 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5’2″ tall.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I have always worked out and on, but I got focused in February 2023. My transformation is ongoing.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I have learned is to track everything I eat in an app. I have to track every “bite, lick, and taste.” You will fall off the wagon sometimes, but I get back on it.
I also learned that water is my friend. Most importantly, there is no magic pill. Even though I take a weight loss shot (Wegovy), it’s a complete lifestyle change that is necessary.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
My advice for women is to be consistent and make small changes. The weight didn’t show up overnight, so it will take time to lose it.
