Andiee lost 23 pounds by juicing and embracing a plant-based diet. She wants to be healthy and break the generational curses of obesity, hypertension, and diabetes. Now, she has the energy she needs to exercise and live an active lifestyle.
What was your motivation?
I wanted to break the generational curses of obesity, hypertension, and diabetes. These are ailments I was always told were based on your genetics. Every day, I’d wake up tired. I had no energy, and I had a deep brain fog. Most of all, I was not happy with the direction my health was headed.
After I began a regular juicing regimen, I started to have a lot more energy and mental clarity. Overall, I felt great, which inspired me to keep going.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started this journey in April 2019. I didn’t have a goal weight in mind. I only wanted to be healthier. I can’t say how long my transformation has taken me because I am still transforming daily.
How did you change your eating habits?
I was able to transform my eating habits through juicing and transitioning to a mostly plant-based diet. I incorporated fresh juice into my diet daily. I began to eat to live, only consuming whole foods that gave me energy and vitality (ample amounts of fruits and veggies!).
I listened to my body. Your gut health can affect your entire being, including emotions. Juicing gave me increased energy levels and mental clarity.
Tell us about your workout routine.
Thanks to juicing and a plant-based diet, I live a more active lifestyle. I work out at a CrossFit gym 5-6 times a week, which dramatically improved my results.
I’ve come to understand that most people avoid the gym due to a lack of energy after a long workday. Juicing gave me the increased energy that I needed daily to go to the gym.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
Today, standing at 5 feet tall, I have lost 23 pounds. My starting weight was 157 pounds, and my current weight is 134 pounds.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My journey has taught me the greatest wealth is health!
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
To anyone who is ready to start a weight loss journey, I say remember to be kind to yourself and hold yourself accountable. Start small.
If you currently don’t go to the gym or work out at all, make it a priority to exercise twice a week. If you don’t eat enough fruit, add in a banana a day, and gradually build. We only get one body. It is our temple, and we must treat it as such.
