Transformation of the Day: Tinika lost 81 pounds with healthy eating habits and exercise. She saw how illness impacted her parents, and her father passed away due to a heart attack this year. A desire to be a healthy mom for her kids is what motivates her to keep going. By working with her trainer and committing to the process, she has achieved these excellent results.
What was your motivation?
I want to be healthy for my kids. I was pre-diabetic with high blood pressure. Both my parents had heart attacks by my age, and my father also had diabetes. This year my father passed away from a heart attack.
What inspired you when you wanted to give up?
My trainer Omar Campbell always reminded me of my goals and that I couldn’t give up building my legacy.
How did you change your eating habits?
My trainer is certified in nutrition and made a plan tailored to my needs. I cleared out all the foods that were not on the plan. I stopped eating sugar and anything boxed, bagged, or canned.
What did your workout routine look like? How often did you workout?
I attended my trainer’s group fitness class called LCX Conditioning. I worked out 5 to 6 times a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started at 236 pounds. I weigh 155 pounds now.
What is your height?
I am 5 foot, 3 inches tall.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started on April 17, 2019. My transformation took eight months.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
I learned that it doesn’t happen overnight. You have to be mentally tough to stay on track. Otherwise, you will give up!
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Make a goal and commit to it whether or not you see the results you want each week. Remember, health is from the inside out. Even though you may not lose a pound one week, think about how healthy eating habits benefit your overall health.
