Transformation of the Day: Ashley lost 63 pounds. Her four children are her motivation. She got results with a low carb, keto diet combined with lots of exercise. Check out her journey.

What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was my four beautiful kids. I know they are going to need me around for a long time, and getting healthy was something I knew I had to do.
How did you change your eating habits?
With research, I decided to do keto/low carb. I have tried so many diets, and I was tired of the ups and downs of my weight. With keto, I still got to eat food that I love, such as bacon, burgers, and chicken. I gave up bread, which was a big deal for me cause I love it. I also started eating more vegetables and avocados, which I never thought I would eat. I try to stay around 25 to 30 carbs a day, and it has really worked for me.
What did your workout routine look like?
I work out 5-6 times a day for at least an hour. My workout consists of cardio and weight lifting. When I can’t make it to the gym, I work out at home just so I can stay on track.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 255 pounds, and my current weight is 192 pounds. My height is 5’5″.

When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey on July 18, 2018. I began to see progress after the first month. I had lost 10 pounds, and I was so elated. I just knew I had to stick it out.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I have learned is to stay consistent no matter what the scale says and always to remind myself why I started this journey in the first place.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Find what’s comfortable for you and stick with it. Sometimes you might have to go out of your comfort zone to get things accomplished but stick to it no matter what.
