Today’s featured weight loss success story: LaVona lost 170 pounds and is now living a Pescetarian lifestyle and avoiding sugars, starches, and fried foods.
I asked her how she did it. She said,
“I have been on this journey for quite some time! It took 11 long years and going to 11 different doctors to find out that I had an esophageal blockage. I had a stroke in ’09 and suffered with hypertension and gestational diabetes with both pregnancies. I have since lost 170 pounds in roughly 25 months. When I started out I was 421 pounds. To God be the glory! I am now living a pescetarian lifestyle and avoiding sugars, starches, and fried foods.
I stopped eating all meat except for fish. I ceased from eating sweets unless it was fruit with a little Stevia. I drink a gallon of water a day or half a gallon water/half gallon Gatorade depending on my day. Increased vegetables. Cut out all white foods such as mashed potatoes, flour, or rice. Brown rice was a great substitute. Mashed sweet potatoes with a little brown sugar was also a great exchange. I walk a mile in the morning and one before I go to bed. Just had to take a big look at what wasn’t working and change it for the better. I must not forget that I increased my sleep. My body couldn’t heal until I laid it down. Lol.”
