Tracee lost 45 pounds by working out and eating right. She was tired of being out of breath and tired of feeling insecure. At a local gym, she found a great support system and formed a bond with the owner. Today, she’s a Group Fitness Trainer.
What was your motivation?
I got tired of being out of breath. I was very insecure, and I didn’t like the way I looked.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
The best decision I’ve made was joining Anytime Fitness. The members and owners pushed, helped, and encouraged me. (Better than what I was getting from my husband.) The owner of the gym became a good friend, and she helped me. It’s all mental. If you want it, you have to go for it.
How did you change your eating habits?
I chose healthier foods, such as ground beef, ground turkey, and healthier complex carbs. I cut out soda, eliminated lots of sugar, and changed my salt brand to a no-salt seasoning. Most recently, I’ve been trying plant-based foods.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I started by working out 3/4 times a week, doing cardio, HIIT, and weight training. I work out daily now.
I love working out. It’s a must and a great stress reliever. It really helps me maintain my anger with personal relationships. Actually, I love it so much that I got my Group Fitness Trainer certificate, and I’m studying to become a health coach.

I started at 205 pounds, and my current weight is 160 pounds.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
To never give up on you. If you don’t love who you are, inside and out, who will? I had to learn to love myself first.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Don’t give up because it takes time. Don’t compare your journey to someone else’s.
