Transformation of the Day: Alexis lost 63 pounds. This mom wants to be able to keep up with her two young sons. She got results by making practical, straightforward changes to her eating habits and by working out regularly.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was my family. I needed to be able to keep up with my two little boys. What inspires me to keep going is seeing that I can do a little more every day. I feel myself getting stronger physically and mentally. It’s the best feeling ever.
How did you change your eating habits?
I just started to cut back the amount of food I was eating at first. Then, I slowly increased my veggie portions. I slowed down on the Chipotle, ate more fruits, and did more cooking at home.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
When I first started, I’d walk 1-2 miles. I also got into the gym. I worked out 5-6 days a week. It was becoming my new healthy addiction as I was overcoming bad ones.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 280 pounds. My current weight is 217 pounds.
What is your height?
My height is 5’3”.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey on June 16, 2020. I am not yet at my goal, but I have made some progress.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned so far is that this is truly a journey and a lifestyle change. I cannot receive long-lasting results with quick fixes. I know I need to show up every day and do what I need to do.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice for women who want to start to lose weight is to take things day by day. Don’t think about next week or month. Think about today. Do what you need to do today!
