Transformation of the Day: Chara lost 115 pounds. She wanted to gain confidence and feel better physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Over the course of 2 1/2 years, she used low carb meals and exercise to transform her lifestyle.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was to gain more confidence and feel better physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
How did you change your eating habits?
I began with a very low carb diet. Progressively I added in carbs, eventually getting up to about 60-75 grams per day.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I mostly did cardio at the very beginning of my journey for about an hour a day, 5-6 days a week. I did two-a-days on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 320 pounds, and now I weigh 205 pounds.

I started my journey at the end of 2017. It took me about 2 1/2 years.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, surgery was not a part of my journey.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I’ve learned to be honest yet kind to myself. I learned that self-care is more than just spa days. For me, self-care means disciplining myself to become a healthier person.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Take your time! It is not a race! Be patient and learn your body. You can be your biggest enemy or your biggest supporter. You have to choose.
