Jeanelle lost 37 pounds by working out and eating whole, healthy food. It was easy for her to lose weight after the birth of her first son. However, the three consecutive miscarriages that followed took a huge toll on her. After the birth of her second son, she found the determination and motivation to change her life.
What was your motivation?
My motivation came from being an athlete in the past. I have been pregnant five times. After I had my first son, it was easy to lose weight. I mostly ate fruits and vegetables. However, I went on to have three consecutive miscarriages, which took a tremendous toll on me physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.
Due to the determination I gained from doing track and field, I tried again. I successfully had another baby boy. Even though I was successful with having another son, my body failed me. I weighed 225 pounds and found it hard to lose. I started dieting and working out every day, and the rest is history!
You can do whatever you set your mind to! To achieve the results, I had to do what I’ve never done. Also, you won’t always feel motivated, but you have to be disciplined.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by making up in my mind that I needed to change. I stopped eating a lot of processed foods and leaned more towards Whole Foods. I am currently a Vegan, and that change has helped me tremendously.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
My workout consists of weight training, followed by ten mins of HIIT and 30-40 minutes of cardio. I work out five days a week.
What is your current weight?
I weigh 188 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5’7”.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
My journey started in February once I was cleared by my doctor after my son was born. My transformation took roughly ten months.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My biggest lesson is learning how to be dedicated to your goals. Times may get difficult. However, if you are determined, you will get through it.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
I want other women to know that they are beautiful and can achieve anything they set their minds to.
