Transformation of the Day: Jeannette lost 51 pounds by changing her mindset and changing her habits. Her turning point came when nothing in her closet fit, her joints hurt, and she felt like her health was a mess. Keto and intermittent fasting are two of the tools this used to take back her health. Today, at 53 years young, she is living her best life.
I’m 53 years young, and my height is 5’8″. In January 2020, I weighed 226 pounds. That’s the heaviest I’ve ever been (not related to pregnancy). Previous to his, I had two Pituitary surgeries and radiation to remove a non-cancerous Mega Adnonoma Pituitary tumor.
Nothing fit, my joints hurt, it was very difficult to rise from a seated position. Overall, my health was a mess.
How did you change your lifestyle to improve your health?
I decided to try and adopt a Keto lifestyle starting in early March 2020, right before the pandemic hit. Thankfully, I was able to stay employed, and I have been working from home since March. I was SO determined to stay on my journey.
I followed the Keto lifestyle strictly, and by May, I had lost 30 pounds. My weight loss stalled a bit, so I began walking between 2-3 miles a day. I also started practicing intermittent fasting. By August, I lost 15 more pounds.
What is your current weight?
Today I weigh between 175-179 pounds. My ultimate goal is to get to 170 lbs and keep the weight off.
Was weight loss surgery part of your journey?
Weight loss surgery was never a consideration for me. If you choose that option, remember you will still be required to change your current lifestyle.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
My biggest lesson is if you want to live your best, pain-free life, you have to change your mindset.
What advice would you like to share with people who want to lose weight?
The best advice I give to other people when they ask me how I was able to do it; Never give up. Even when you don’t see the progress you want, keep going.
