Transformation of the Day: Chenile lost 106 pounds. At 350 lbs, she was dealing with high blood pressure, debilitating migraines and pre-diabetes. She changed her daily habits, sought the help of a trainer and shared her journey online for accountability. Check out what she shared with us about how she took action to change her life.
Hello my name is Chenile. I have been overweight since I was in the 5th grade. Before starting my weight loss journey, was on 2 medications for high blood pressure, and I suffered from severe migrains. I was also pre-diabetic. I began my weight loss journey in Nov 2014 at 350 pounds.
I started by changing my eating habits, adding vitamins and supplements in my diet, and investing in an awesome personal trainer. I stopped drinking soda and tea. Basically, I only drank water and crystal light. I stopped eating meat completely for the first two months, then I incorporated chicken and fish only back into my eating regime.
I worked out 6 days a week, sometimes twice a day. I did strength training 3 times a week, and cardio 3 to 4 times a week. I started putting my workouts on social media, via Facebook and Instagram, which really helped me stay accountable to my goals. Before I knew it, the weight was falling off and I was inspiring people from all over.
I currently weigh 244 pounds (height: 5’6″). With hard work and dedication, I was able to lose a little over 100 pounds in 12 months. I am no longer on high blood pressure medication, nor am I pre-diabetic.
In the beginning I wanted to lose weight for purely selfish reasons. Now, I keep going to show others that this fight is real, but with the right mindset your dreams can become reality as long as you DON’T QUIT! My recommendation for anyone on this journey would be to KEEP GOING! Also, start hanging around people that live the life style you want. Join a support group, it’s important to keep your mind focused on the goal.
