Transformation of the Day: Sierra lost 45 pounds. During a time that should have been one of the happiest of her life, this young lady was dealing with low self esteem and college weight gain. She decided to get out of her comfort zone, eat clean and hit the gym hard. Check out what she shared with us about changing her lifestyle.
Hello, I’m Sierra. I gained a lot of weight my freshman year in college, my heaviest weight being in the 220 lbs range. My self esteem was low at a time that was suppose to be the most enjoyable time in my life. I took the power to lose weight into my own hands. I changed my eating habits, cut out all sweets, drank plenty of water, got out of my comfort zone and hit the gym. I went from 220 pounds to 180 pounds in 4 months, and I currently weigh 175 pounds (height 5’4″). I’m not done yet! My goal is 160 lbs and I won’t stop until I get there. I also want to help others experience what I’ve been experiencing.
Eating Habits: I changed my eating habits by not buying or keeping sweets or junk food in the house. I cooked and meal prepped to stop me from going out for fast food. I drank 1 gallon of water everyday as well. I eat clean, which includes lots of steamed veggies and lean meats that are baked or cooked in a skillet. I also eat brown rice or baked sweet potatoes. I snack on boiled eggs, fruit, string cheese and just make healthier choices in general.
Exercise: I go to the gym Monday – Friday. Right now, I’m focusing on lots of cardio. I’m usually at the gym for a good hour, maybe more. I do the elliptical machine, treadmill, stair climber or bikes. I like to switch it up so my body won’t get use to the same workouts.
Advice: My advice to anyone would be to stay consistent, drink plenty of water and take lots of personal pictures and measurements to really track your progress.
