Transformation of the Day: Talexia lost 113 pounds this year. She made a New Year’s Resolution with her sister that they would look good on their birthday, and she did just that. Adopting a Pescatarian/Keto diet really worked for her.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I got serious about my weight loss journey when my sister and I made a New Year’s Resolution back in January 2020. We pledged that we would look good for our birthday this year (which is September 27th). I’m happy to say I turned 23 years old this year, and I felt beautiful and confident while doing it.
My sister and I both were losing weight at the same time, so that inspired me. Anytime I didn’t feel strong, she would push me to keep going. Also, gaining back my happiness and seeing results motivated me.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started off doing a Pescatarian/Keto diet. I also challenged myself only to drink water, which I’ve stuck to. I cut out foods that contain lots of added sugar, as well as pasta and bread. I try to focus on eating whole foods and food I have to prepare at home. My favorite is broccoli and cheese, with some fish on the side.
What did your workout routine consist of?
My exercise routine was me keeping busy and going to work. I never liked hardcore exercising.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started at 275 pounds, and I currently weight 162 pounds.
What is your height?
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
Nope, I did everything myself naturally.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I’ve learned to love myself fully. I’ve also learned that it takes time to develop healthy habits.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
My advice is to keep going and celebrate every milestone. I hope whoever is reading this post is helped by it in some way. You got this!
