Weight Loss Transformation of the Day: De’Ricca lost 84 pounds. Committing to clean eating and regular exercise helped her to lose the pounds and change her lifestyle. Here is what she shared with us about her journey…
I started my weight loss journey in Oct 2013 based on a bet by a co-workers that I would work out until Christmas. After that first week, I just went all in and have never looked back. For my eating habits, I did a lot of online research about exactly what clean eating was. Followed a lot of fitness blogs as well.
I sorta went cold turkey and I cut everything negative out for those first few months. I only drank water and didn’t eat fried food. I had no restaurant food unless it was a salad. No red meat, no pork no bread and very little pasta. I mostly ate chicken, fish and tons of vegetables.
For my workout routine, I would do a Jillian Michaels DVDs in the morning before work and then work out on my lunch break 2 times a day, 6 days a week. That was before I joined Planet Fitness.
My starting weight was 284 pounds. I currently weight 200.8 pounds. I’m still working to get to about 180 lbs. I’m 5’10” tall. My advice to others: Yes, it is hard to lose weight, nothing easy about it, but if you mentally prepare yourself for the battle everything else will fall into place. It is truly mind over matter.
