Transformation of the Day: Lashanda lost 63 pounds. Back in 2012, she started making simple, straight forward changes to her lifestyle that have led to lasting weight loss. Check out what she shared about how she did it.
My motivation was getting healthy and being able to be around to raise my son. I was also tired of being tired and breathing hard from just walking across the room. This is what pushed me! However, my main inspiration was my son.
I changed my eating habits by cutting back on sweets every single day. Yes, I still enjoy sweets but only in moderation and no longer daily. I started eating yogurt twice a day and I also always have gala apples and navel oranges in my refrigerator. I drink water every day and I add a freshly squeezed lemon to my bottled water. When it comes to meat, I mainly eat is chicken breast or chicken wings. I have ground beef in moderation.
I work out at my local YMCA 5, sometimes 6, days a week. I run on the treadmill, lift weights and ride the exercise bike. I also use the machines to work out my arms, legs and stomach. I try to walk outside in addition to my gym exercises whenever I can.
My starting weight was 220 pounds and I currently weigh 157 pounds. My height is 5ft, 2inches. I want to loose 10 more pounds and then focus on toning up and building muscle. My transformation took 1 year, with the first 20lbs lost after 8 weeks. I began back in 2012 and I’ve kept the weight off every since.
My advice to others who want to lose weight is stay determined! Create a goal and once you reach it, don’t stop!! Drink water everyday! Lemon water is even better as it helps with maintaining weight loss. Don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t come off fast because you have to start somewhere. Get a YMCA membership if you can. I love their facility! Get healthy! I promise it’ll change your overall health! I use to have high chloesterol and had to take pills. I no longer have high cholesterol and I no longer need medication.
