Transformation of the Day: Quesha lost 156 pounds. She’s struggled with her weight since she was 11 years old. Her turning point came when she started to have trouble breathing at 289 lbs. Check out how she released the weight by working out at home and changing her eating habits.
I’m from a small town named Crockett in East Texas. I’m 33 year old and I’ve struggled with my weight since the age of 11. I was talked about in school and faced many challenges. I was obese, unhealthy, unmotivated, out of shape, and honestly very UNHAPPY! My big why was that I really began to have a hard time breathing. When I graduated, I decided to turn my life around. I weighed in at 289 pounds at 5’6″ and I knew I had to make a change, after many failed diets and never finding anything I liked.
That’s when I discovered Tony Horton and Beachbody. He was my inspiration! I saw that he had a DVD called The 10 Minute Trainer, (10 mins? Why Not?!) I NEVER WENT TO A GYM during my journey. I did 3 rounds of the 10 Minute Trainer program! I also mastered Hip Hop Abs and Insanity. I worked out Monday through Friday at 5:30 am, before I went to work.
I also worked out occasionally on some Saturdays, when I had nothing to do. Tony Horton and Shaun T are my coaches! My son kept me motivated. I did my workouts at home and followed a healthy meal plan.
I cut out all fried food and took soda out of my life. Water was all I drank, along with having coffee every morning with a tad bit of sweetener. My favorite snacks were fruits. I loved apples and peanut butter as a snack. I also ate healthy meals, like chicken salad or tomato basil soup, and drank Shakeology meal replacement snakes, which were very delicious.
My journey started back in 2009 and still contines today. It took me a year and a half to lose 156 pounds! I still continue to workout everyday! My best advice: YOU CAN DO IT TOO!
Now, helping others is my passion. I love fitness and health. It’s not about being “skinny”, but living a healthy lifestyle. I am working hard EVERYDAY to help motivate EVERYONE. I was employed as a pre-school teacher for the last 5 years, but now a full-time Beachbody Fitness Coach. I’m also writing a book about my weight loss journey. My goal is to motivate and help as many people as possible who are struggling like I was.
