Brande lost 27 pounds. This mother of three fully committed to her summertime transformation. The support and guidance she received from 2 great trainers and her training group made the difference. Check out how she did it.
How did you change your eating habits?
I work full time and have three teenagers who are actively involved in extra curricular activities. Because I was always on the go, I didn’t pay much attention to what I was eating. Sometimes I would be so busy that I would forget to eat. Once I decided to transform my body I started working with Transformation Specialist Rod FFrr at Transform You Fitness. He taught me to eat more frequently (4-5 times per day) and to be more conscious about how I was fueling my body.
I stopped eating a lot of processed food, cut out my daily extra large coffee loaded with cream and sugar, and limited my carb intake. I ate more protein, veggies, and added a serving of whole grains, like oatmeal or brown rice, for breakfast and lunch. When I did have to eat out, I made sure it was as healthy as possible by sticking to protein and vegetables. My meal plan was personally created by Rod. The plan didn’t involve any specific calorie goals and was easy to follow given my busy schedule. The meals were well balanced and included protein, vegetables, and whole grains.
What did your workout routines look like?
My workout routine includes: plyometrics, cardio and weight-lifting with focus on my arms and legs.I worked out and continue to workout for 30 minutes 3-4 days per week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weigh twas 197 pounds. My current weight is 170 pounds (size 10). My height is 5’11”.
How long did your transformation take?
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
First, get rid of the scale. Use a tape measure instead to track results. For me being fit is no longer about the number on the scale. This time, I focused on how I felt and how my clothes fit. In the past, focusing on a specific number sabotaged my results and caused me to become unmotivated. Especially when I wasn’t losing weight like I wanted.
Secondly I would say be real with yourself and admit when you need help. For years, I tried to work out on my own. I was killing myself in the gym for at least two hours a day, 5 days a week with minimal results. Joining Transform You Fitness and getting help from my trainers Rod FFrr and Vivica Sadler was the best decision I ever made. In a small group training environment they showed me how to work smarter and harder. I maximized my effort and results while putting in less time at the gym and exceeding my fitness goals.
From Vivica of Transform You Fitness:
Less than 3 months ago, I ran a promotion to become “summer time ready” and Brande not only took on the challenge…She devoured it. A lot of times we feel training is for people that have large amounts of weight to lose. What Transform You Fitness focuses on is total body shape transformation and not just a weight loss clinic.
I remember when Brande first announced she would be training, she had friends, family and countless people state, “You are already in shape” or “you are good where you are at”. But, Brande is a different individual all together. I’ve come to realize she marches to her own beat. She has a drive that motivates her to be more than the status quo. She demands and chases excellence.
Brande has made remarkable strides in her overall body appearance from face to arms and most of all her waistline, belly and those ABS!!
Brande came to me as an extremely detailed, focused individual with a demanding career within the Hillsborough County School Board as AVID District director.
What’s even more amazing is she accomplished this in less than 3 months and while building herself spiritually, designing herself physically. All this while constantly traveling and sacrificing her own time for the enrichment of her children.
I say that to say, regardless of time restraints and obligations with focus you can still design yourself to the image you deserve.
Brande’s words on what motivated her to transform:
“Every new year for the past three or four years, I set a resolution to get in shape and every year I would go through the same cycle I would start out really strong spend an hour and a half in the gym everyday see minimal results. This year I realized that insanity was doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I promised myself that this was going to be the year of my best body and nothing was going to stop me. Not my work schedule and not my kids AAU basketball schedule. Not my duties as a wife and mother. I wanted to do it because I was tired of being fat and unhappy with my body. I also wanted time to myself where I didn’t have to worry about anything but me. I didn’t want to focus on being mom, wife, teacher or anything else. I just wanted time for me.”
Brande, You have always had one goal and that was to transform your body to the best possible. Thank you for displaying what a strong, focused, and positive woman can do when her mind is focused.
