Transformation of the Day: Monea lost 107 pounds and went from a size 22 to a size 14. This 30 year old was ready to create a new, healthy lifestyle as she moved forward in life. Doing lots of cardio, tracking her food intake with an app and eating high protein meals really worked for her. Check out her story.
What was your motivation?
My motivation for losing the weight was life! I wanted to be able to live a healthy life. I’m 30 years old. I’m ready to move forward in life and start a family. I knew the weight would not allow me to live the lifestyle I wanted… But I’m ready now!
What inspired you to keep going when times were tough?
Prayer got me through the rough days. I’m so blessed to have a great support system standing behind me.
How did you change your eating habits?
I used a high protein diet and the My Fitness Pal app to help keep track of my calories and protein intake. Eating three meals per day and one snack is my daily goal. Most of my meals are high protein. Some of my favorite healthy meals are cauliflower rice and zucchini shrimp or chicken pasta. I don’t eat any bread or drink soda. I also try not to drink juice, but sometimes “no added sugar” juice is my fix.
What did your workout routine look like?
I work out 3 times a week for 45 minutes doing lots of running and cardio. (I love cardio! Running and squats are life… lol.)
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I’ve gone from 360 pounds to 253 pounds. I’m 5ft, 9in tall. People still don’t believe me when I tell them my weight.
How long did your transformation take?
It’s been 10 months total, but I’m still not at my goal weight of 240 pounds. I can’t wait till my scale says it… lol.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that this is a lifestyle change! I was so ready to take control of my life, and I did.
What advice would you share with other women who want to lose weight?
My advice to others is trust and believe in yourself. You can do anything that you put your mind to!
