What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 270 pounds. My current weight is 215 pounds. My height is 5’5″.
When did you start your journey?
June 1st 2017.
What was your motivation?
My motivation for losing weight was the fact I had let myself go before the age of 30.
What inspired you when you wanted to give up?
The fact I used to be slim and fit. I wanted to go out and feel good about myself again, and that desire kept me inspired.
How did you change your eating habits?
I ate all my meals in healthy portion sizes. I let go of bread and fast food. The healthy foods I eat on a regular basis include broccoli, spinach, black or brown rice, mushrooms, red and green peppers and red onions. I try to eat a balance of both fish and chicken.
What did your workout routine look like?
My workout routine started with 30 minutes of exercise every single day for 30 days. I continue to workout everyday.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that you have to eat to live, not live to eat. Therefore, food does not control me. I control what goes in my mouth and what doesn’t. I also learned that staying active is very important because our bodies were made to move. It is the only gift we can give ourselves while creating a healthy lifestyle.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Stay consistent and pray a lot with strong faith.
