Transformation of the Day: Nisha La’Shay lost over 45 pounds. Over the course of three years, she had to change her lifestyle and battle multiple health issues to get where she is today. Armed with knowledge and a willingness to abandon negative habits, she got awesome results. Check out how she did it.
What motivated you to change your life?
Lack of knowledge is what held me back for so long. I’ve had weight loss issues ever since I was old enough to remember. I was borderline diabetic and had health issues, including asthma and allergies. One day, I tried but couldn’t do just one sit-up. That’s when I decided it was time for a change.
The massive progress that I’ve made mentally and physically is what keeps me going. The negative comments people once made also serves as motivation. I’ve channeled the negative into positive.
How did you change your eating habits?
I cut out all fast food and the majority of processed foods. Then, I went on a high protein diet. I became a label reading addict.
What did you do in terms of exercise?
I started hitting the gym. I love lifting and doing high intensity interval training for cardio works wonders. I workout 5 times a week.
Starting weight/Current weight
At the beginning of my journey, I weighed over 200 pounds. I’m currently weigh 155 pounds and I am 5’5″.
How long did your transformation take?
I have been on my journey for 3 years and it has been a true lifestyle change.
What advice would you share with other people who want to lose weight?
My advice is never sell yourself short. Your health should be your main priority. Ladies, do not be afraid of the weights and take time to read up on nutrition. Knowledge is the key.
