Weight Loss Transformation of the Day: Tenehah lost 55 pounds, going from a size 18 to a size 14. Wanting to avoid health issues and tired of dealing with being overweight, she decided to take positive action! Here is what she shared with us about her weight loss journey…
Hello, my name is Tenehah Boone. I’ve currently lost 55 lbs and have gone from a size 18 to size 13/14. (I am 5″4 1/2″ tall.) My weight loss journey started in July of 2014 and continues in the present. I’ve always had weight struggles, up n down, but now I’M getting older. Health issues also came up, so I decided to do this for me.
I NEVER stuck to anything, but there is a first time for everything. I initially said I wanted to get to a size 14, but I feel as if my journey is not over, it’s just getting started. Hardwork, Dedication, and Motivation MOST Definitely pays off. I work out 4-5 days a week, watch what I eat during the week and LIVE for my weekends. I don’t over do it because I know I work too hard during the week. I have jumped off, fell off the track but….but I hopped right back on. I came to far to give up now. I Thank the MOST HIGH for giving me the strength and determination to do so. If you BELIEVE, all things are possible!
I got on a work out regimen and diet with coworkers and stuck to it. Started off with a work out partner, now I role solo. I just started on strictly cardio (20 min). I always work my abs every time I’m at the gym. Now, I do 30-45 min of cardio depending on my workout. I incorporate legs, abs exercises one day and back, abs and arms on alternating days of the week. I plan to primarily focus on cardio and THESE hips and thighs of mine until I get to my ideal goal weight.
My advice: We are our worst critics. Take lots of pictures and compare. Don’t focus on the scale, because it is meaningless. For the longest time I would get on the scale 3-4 times a day. It wouldn’t move, but I knew my body was changing. My advice to others is to know that it’s a mental thing….Mind over matter. You have to do it for you. Everybody is not meant to be a size 2 and just because you are skinny it doesn’t mean you’re healthy. Be confident in the skin you are in. I have a vision and I’m determined to do whatever it takes to get there. My biggest regret is not starting sooner.
