How I lost weight: In January 2014, I was 306 pounds. Right now, I’m 249 pounds. My goal is to lose 70 more pounds. I was prescribed 37.5 mg Phentermine pills to help control my appetite. For exercise, I walk 60 to 90 minutes a day. I also workout with Shaun T’s Rockin Body DVDs and shimmy belly dance DVDs. I am trying eat more sensibly and drink lots of water. I drink warm water with lemon first thing in the morning. Later, I have 1 to 2 16 oz bottles of water before I leave for work. My goal is to have at least two more bottles of water throughout the day. This helps me feel more full.
It’s a day to day struggle. I weight myself daily, not to frustrate myself but to ensure I stay focused and let myself know that even when I fall/falter I can still not go too far. The scale is not perfect but it can be a guide and let you know when you are going off too far from your goal. If you are losing weight and the scale keeps staying the same, you know that you have to do something different, like eat less or find a new workout routine. If you are gaining lots of pounds, you can correct it before it gets too bad.
