Shakeba lost 46 pounds. She wanted to lower her high blood pressure and be there for years to come to raise her two children. Making simple changes to her eating habits and getting more exercise are the actions she took to change her life.
What was your motivation?
My motivation was my high blood pressure. I was taking 4 different pills a day. What really inspired me was my two children. When I wanted to give up, I thought about my kids. I need to be here for them and I couldn’t imagine anyone else raising them.
How did you change your eating habits?
No fried foods and no fast food. I also drank more fluids and totally cut out sodas. Instead of fast food, I eat fruits. I love to eat fruits and green vegetables. I also use Herbalife shakes and protein bars.
What did you do for exercise?
I do a lot of walking on the treadmill 3 times a week and I walk at the track 2 times a week.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 345 pounds. I currently weight 299 pounds. My height is 5’9″. I started my journey 2 years ago.
What advice would you offer to other people who want to lose weight?
The advice I would give is focus, focus, focus. Don’t give up, because your hard work will pay off eventually. It gets hard sometimes times, but you gotta push thru.
