What was your motivation?
My motivation was wanting to feel like my old energetic self again. I was tired of being tired.
What inspired you when to keep going when you wanted to give up?
My workout partner. Support was very important to me. On days that I didn’t want to get up and go workout, I knew she was there waiting on me, so I had to.
How did you change your eating habits?
I cut back on sweets and bread (carbs mostly) and ate smaller portions. I didn’t cut out anything completely. I just ate smaller portions. I find that when I cut out complete food groups, I start to crave them.
What did your workout routine look like?
I worked out 5-6 days a week. I ran/walked 3-5 miles every day and did light weights a couple of times a week as well. Having a smartwatch to count my steps helped greatly. I made sure I got my steps in every day.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 208 pounds, and my current weight is 155 pounds. My height is 5’1″
When did you start your journey?
I started going to the gym every single day beginning on Aug 1, 2017. I hit my goal of losing 50 pounds by Christmas.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
CONSISTENCY IS KEY!
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Don’t give up!
