Transformation of the Day: Darlisha lost 40 pounds. We have followed her journey since 2021. Not only did she fully embrace healthy eating habits, but she shared that strength training has helped her manage anxiety and depression.
What was your motivation?
My motivation for losing weight? I wanted to look good and feel good naked. Strength training also helped me manage anxiety and depression.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits drastically. I no longer consume soda, pork, or beef. I practice portion control when I dine out at a local restaurant by splitting my with a friend or saving the rest of the meal for later.
What is your workout routine?
My workouts consist of cardio and strength training. My favorite cardio exercise is 60 minutes on the elliptical or 60 minutes on the treadmill on an incline on level 5.
When my goal is to maintain my weight, I work out three times a week. When my goal is to drop weight, I work out seven days a week.
Over the last three years, I have had several trainers. The two trainers that have positively impacted me the most are @blisslifestylefitness and Kyle From Crunch Fitness in Westland, Michigan.

When did you begin your weight loss journey?
I started my weight loss journey in 2020. I started seeing results in four weeks.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
My weight loss journey is natural. I lost 40 pounds through clean eating and exercise.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is it doesn’t get easier. You get stronger! Your body can do almost anything. It’s your mind you have to convince.
What advice would you live to give women who want to lose weight?
The advice I would like to share is don’t wait till you get sick to worry about your health! Instead, show up for yourself every day, and you won’t regret it!
