What was your motivation?
On my last birthday, 4/11/14, I didn’t like the way I looked when I saw pictures of myself. Also, several of my Facebook friends have posted before and after photos of their weight loss success stories. That along with reading sites like this let me know that if other people could lose weight, I could too!
How did you change your eating habits?
I cut out fried food, sweets and salty snacks. I primarily drink water and I’ve significantly reduced my intake of alcohol. I’ve increased my intake of fruits, veggies and lean protein. I do allow myself to have cheats on a weekly basis. I use a fitness tracking device and calorie counting app.
What did your workout routines look like?
I workout a minimum of 3 times per week. I take group training classes as well as additional cardio and strength training.
What was your starting weight? 315 pounds
What is your current weight? 245 pounds (I’m not done losing weight.)
What is your height? 5’9″ tall
How long did your transformation take?
I began my transformation in June 2014.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Never give up. Don’t compare yourself to others. Take the journey one day at a time, one meal at a time and one workout at a time. Believe in yourself and love yourself enough to be disciplined in your eating and exercise regiments.
