Update Oct 2015: Brittany wrote in to tell us that she’s lost 20 more pounds for a total of 120 lbs gone. “I got the courage to pursue a career in modeling. I gave up red meat and only ate baked chicken and fish. I made sure to eat a serving of vegetables with every meal and had fruit for breakfast. I also started competing as an amateur boxer, went to a national tournament and got second place.”
June 2015 – Weight Loss Story of the Day: Brittany lost 100 pounds. Â Emotional eating led to weight gain and health issues, so she decided to change her lifestyle. Â She shared with us about her journey and motivation…
What was your motivation? Â What kept you inspired?
I was in unhealthy relationship and became an emotional eater.  My son was my inspiration. Also, my doctor diagnosed me with high blood pressure. I gained so much weight in a short period of time that my body went into shock. The fact is that choosing a healthy life was life or death decision for me, so I chose life. I’ve always said that my son deserves a healthy mom.
How did you change your eating habits?
No fast food and no soda to begin with. I also stopped eating fried foods. To get healthy, I started eating more servings of fruit and vegetables everyday.
What did your workout routines look like?
For exercise, I did cardio, strength training and conditioning.
What was your starting weight and what is your current weight?
My starting weight was 270 pounds.  I currently weigh 170 pounds. Height: 5’9″
How long did your transformation take? 3 1/2 years
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Never give up. Change your eating habits rather than just eating less or more. Find a physical activity that you love doing and fitness will become your lifestyle, not a chore.

WOW – great job !
I can’t seem to stay motivated & I really need to lose this baggage ..
Soda is my weakness as well.
I will make another attempt for the 100th time.
Thanks.

I have an issue with getting started and staying motivated. I’m not sure about how to work the grocery list to healthy weight loss. If I had the energy or had someone to teach me how to eat, I’m sure I would be on my way.
