Update: Shout out to Jessica! She lost a total of 100 before her most recent pregnancy. This mom of 2 is 7 months postpartum and getting back to her pre-baby weight.
#motivationmonday You can look at a million transformation photos like this one☝🏽 You can look at a thousand healthy food photos , you can search high and low for inspiration on IG for workout ideas and you’ll find them but until you’re truly ready to make a change, you will stay inspired but absolutely nothing will come out of it . Heck you might even end up feeling like a failure for not being able to turn this inspiration into something tangible! Here’s the deal though, no one can save you but you! You need to transform from within you need to dig deep and uncover your own motivations. 👌🏽🙌🏽 The same goes for me guys! #realtalk I’ve been spending an obscene amount of time on social media looking for weightloss inspiration and self love inspiration and #bodypositivity inspiration. Time I could spend with my family or meditating, praying, reading , growing! That being said I’m giving up social media for the 40 days of lent to do just that! I’m excited for the internal transformation that will inevitably come out of this! Thanks for rocking with me and please know I’m rooting for you all! Keep killing it and I’ll see you all on Easter Sunday! Xoxo
2014: Weight Loss Story of the Day: Jessica lost 75 pounds. This petite diva gained over 60 pounds during her pregnancy which were still around and giving her the blues 6 months later. I think her story should serve as encouragement to every mom who’s trying to escape the pregnancy weight. Here is what she shared with us…
My name is Jessica and I am 5’1″ tall. I have struggled with my weight my entire adult life. I began my weight loss journey on Thursday, December 13th 2013 at 248 pounds after having gained over 60 lbs from my pregnancy. Throughout my first year post-partum, I was losing and gaining the same 20 lbs over and over. After seeing the photos from my son’s first birthday party, I decided I had enough. I was going to do something about my weight and that has been the best decision of my life.
One year later, I have lost 75 lbs and gained a whole lot of confidence. I still have 53 lbs to go, which may seem like a lot, but I don’t see it that way. I take it one day at a time, pound after pound and workout after workout. People ask me all the time what “diet” I did to lose the weight but I don’t follow any specific plan; I just eat less and make healthier choices of all the foods that I love. I workout a minimum of 5 days a week either teaching Zumba or doing at home Beachbody workout DVDs.
What inspires me to keep going is the pain I remember feeling when someone told me that I looked terrible. They said that I had my baby over 6 months ago and that I should not have let myself go the way that I had. I share my story to inspire others to keep striving to be the best version on themselves.
