When did you start your journey?
I started my weight loss journey in September 2017.
What inspired you? What was your motivation?
My inspiration was definitely my son. Also, I just wanted to look better, feel better and feel healthier in my own body. I have managed to achieve those goals.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by drinking nothing but water. I cut out soda and sugary drinks. I also began counting my calories and cutting down on my daily calorie intake overall. I’ve been following the Weight Watchers plan for 8 months now, and it has helped me stay focused.
What does your workout routine look like?
I workout 3-4 times a week, doing cardio and weight training. My usual workout session would consist of 40-50 minutes on the treadmill and 20 minutes of lifting.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started at 250 pounds and now I weigh 165 pounds. My height is 5’6″. (I did not have any weight loss surgery.)
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson that I’ve learned is that food is not there for comfort. It is there to help fuel my body and help keep me strong and active.
What advice would you like to share with people who want to release the weight?
Do not ever give up on yourself. This journey is definitely a hard one that will come with a lot of ups and downs, but persistence and consistency is key.
