Transformation of the Day: Chanise lost 50 pounds and reclaimed her energy and mobility. She and her husband switched their eating style to plant-based. Working out with her sister via Zoom helped her get stronger and more fit.
What was your motivation?
My motivation was to reclaim my energy and mobility as I continue to live and grow older.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My inspiration has been discovering myself and the restoration of my energy, clarity, and youthfulness.
How did you change your eating habits?
My husband and I eat a plant-based diet 85% of the time. We do not follow a specific plan or program.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I work out with my sister, Coach Cicely Snow, via Zoom 3 days a week. We do HIIT workouts with mobility and strength exercises. My mobility and strength were very limited when I first began, so I was doing significantly modified movements. With consistency and dedication to the journey, I can now do things I have not been able to do in over 25 years.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started at 321 pounds, and I currently weigh 271 pounds! 50lbs weight loss!
What is your height?
I am 5’4″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I began my journey in May 2020 and hit the 50lb weight loss mark in May 2021. I have also lost 42.5 inches and two dress sizes.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I did not have weight loss surgery.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
This is a lifestyle, and you have to take it one day at a time.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
1. Do this for YOU!
2. Start where you are and keep going, one day at a time.
3. Find a way of eating that works for you and that is sustainable.
4. Enjoy the journey.
