Transformation of the Day: Letrice lost 28 pounds. She started her journey in August with the support and encouragement from her weight loss coach. My Sigma Gamma Rho soror focused on her eating habits and worked out twice a day. As a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, she wanted to be a good example for her patients.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
What motivated me was multiple things. First, I had a trip to Mexico for a wedding, and I didn’t want to be the “fat friend.” Second, I’m also a member of Sigma Gamma Rho, and our Boule is coming up.
In addition to that, I was just tired of always covering up myself, not being able to fit or feel comfortable in my clothes or my own skin…and not to mention I wanted to be healthy. I am a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, and I am always telling my patients that as we get older, our metabolism slows. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t lose weight. So this became another motivating factor: To show them, if I can do it, so can they.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by following a meal plan, specifically created for me by Terry Stark (@thedietdoctor on Instagram). He is a great motivator and helped keep me accountable. My diet consisted of smaller, more frequent meals, and lots of greens, and lean proteins.

What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I spent a lot of time working out outside. I did more walking than anything else. Terry Stark only required 30 minutes of any form of cardio of my choosing. I would walk/jog with my dog for about 30 min to an hour in the morning and again before bed every day. I went to the gym for HIIT class maybe five times in total.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 175 pounds, and I currently weigh 146.8 pounds.

When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started on August 16th, 2021, and it took 35 days.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I didn’t have weight loss surgery.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My biggest lesson is consistency is key, and the food makes the most difference.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice to anyone losing weight is to keep going and don’t give up. You’re going to feel amazing when you reach your goal.
