Transformation of the Day: Erika lost 76 pounds. Part of her motivation was seeing her daughter make the same unhealthy food choices she made in her youth. Her new healthy lifestyle includes cutting out sugar, maintaining a calorie deficit, and working out six times a week.
The moment I decided to be the creator of MY destiny, everything changed. Health is wealth and with my mind made up, looking at my daughter making the same unhealthy eating habits I had at her age, I knew it was time for a change. I stopped feeling sorry for myself, I stopped making excuses, and I created a plan. I started eating for the body I wanted and cut out all the bull***t that wouldn’t help me reach my goal.
How did you change your eating habits?
I did this the natural way, no supplements, no magic teas, I didn’t starve myself. I cut my calories to 1200 a day, cut out sugar and, allowed myself to eat carbs three times a week. I didn’t go on a diet. I changed my lifestyle instead. Diets are temporary. A lifestyle change is long-term.
Consistency and a made-up mind are essential. I’m only halfway at my goal and taking my journey 1 step at a time. I’m not posting to brag. I just want to motivate someone. If I can do it, you can too!
What did your workout routine consist of?
My workout routine consisted of a combination of cardio and weight training. I exercised six times a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 250 pounds, and I currently weigh 174 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5’2″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started consistently going to the gym on February 22, 2021. My after photos show approximately a 6-month difference.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
This transformation is all-natural. No surgery, no pills, and no magical supplements. Just hard work, discipline, and dedication.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
Consistency and patience are the keys to weight loss.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
Weight loss is a journey. You have to be patient with yourself. Learn your body and listen to it. The moment I decided to be the creator of MY destiny, everything changed. I’m only halfway at my goal and taking my journey 1 step at a time. If I can do it, you can too.
