Transformation of the Day: Gwendolyn lost 150 pounds. After developing a host of medical challenges, she began her journey in 2019. She has transformed by working out consistently, intermittent fasting, and making healthier food choices.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I was inspired to lose weight after temporarily losing my sight in 2015 (due to my weight) and developing a host of other medical issues that emerged in 2019.
What inspired me not to give up was this question that has kept me on track, which is “How bad do you really want this?”
How did you change your eating habits?
I started intermittent fasting in September 2019, and I just made healthier choices overall. My Intermittent Schedule is 1 pm to 7 pm. Some of the healthy foods I enjoy are Chicken Caesar Salad, Honey Chipotle Salmon, and Chicken Salad. When I began to plateau in January 2020, I started taking all-natural supplements from Total Life Changes. From there, I continued making more healthy decisions, and I meal-prepped more often.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I started by just walking about a 1/2 mile in September 2019. With consistency, I was able to walk three miles by 6/2020. Once I lost about 130 pounds in 5/2021, I joined LA Fitness to begin toning up and building muscles. I have been working out in the gym about 3-4 times a week ever since for approximately an hour.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight is 337 pounds, and my current weight is 187 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5’2″.

When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my weight loss journey on 9/25/2019, and I am still on my journey.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I didn’t have surgery. I tried to get the surgery a few years ago, but I was denied.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I have learned is that I am stronger than I thought I was because I have survived has killed someone else.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
When you change your mind, you change your life! Also, consistency is key!
